The black screen that appears after character creation in New World may give you the idea that the game is trapped in some kind of connection limbo, with your hero condemned to never escape from the black abyss that has apparently swallowed them. It doesn’t help that this happens immediately after your ship is assaulted, but don’t worry, everything is (mostly) OK.
