How to Fix a Slow and Sluggish Apple Device

Matty Erickson 2 min read

Apple devices are known for being sleek and efficient, but sometimes they can start to run a little slow. If this happens to your device, don’t worry – there are ways to speed it back up again. In this article, we’ll walk you through a few methods to get your Apple device running like new.

Reboot your device

One of the simplest ways to speed up a sluggish Apple device is to reboot it. This will clear out any temporary files or processes that may be causing your device to run slowly.

To reboot your device, hold down the power button until the “Slide to Power Off” menu appears. Slide the slider to the right and wait for your device to power off. Once it has powered off, hold down the power button again until the Apple logo appears.

Disable background app refresh

Another way to speed up a slow Apple device is to disable background app refresh. This will prevent apps from refreshing in the background, which can eat up memory and CPU resources.

To disable background app refresh, go to Settings > General > Background App Refresh. Slide the toggle next to Background App Refresh to the Off position.

Disable animations

If your device is still running slowly, you can try disabling animations. This will make your device run a little bit faster, but it may also make it less visually appealing.

To disable animations, go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Reduce Motion. Slide the toggle next to Reduce Motion to the On position.

Delete unused apps

If your device is still running slowly, you may need to delete some of your unused apps. This will free up some storage space and memory on your device.

To delete an app, hold down on the app icon until it starts wiggling. Then, tap the X in the corner of the app to delete it. These are a few methods you can use to speed up a slow and sluggish Apple device. If your device is still running slowly after trying these methods, you may need to take it in for repair.

Why is my ipod so slow

One of the main reasons an Apple device might start to run slowly is because it’s full. If your device is nearing its maximum capacity, it may start to struggle to keep up with your commands.

One way to fix this is to delete some of the data on your device. This could be old photos, videos, or music that you don’t need anymore. If you don’t want to delete any of your data, you can also free up some space by transferring it to iCloud or another cloud storage service.
