Why You Should Use More Public Transportation

With the growing awareness of global warming, people are trying to become more environmentally friendly. When buying food, when choosing where to go on vacation, when using water and when heating. On the one hand, people want to protect the environment; on the other hand, it has all become costly. When you go to a store, it feels like online betting on today’s high prices.

Especially since the price of gasoline has gone up almost 100%, people are trying to stop using their cars, or at least cut back. This makes sense if you live in a country or region with well-developed infrastructure. But at the same time affordable. Especially now, when inflation is high, people need to pay more attention to what they spend their money on.

Many European cities, therefore, offer free public transportation. This reduces traffic, CO2 emissions, and accidents. Luxembourg was the first city to provide free public transport. Malta followed him. Even in larger countries, there is some movement toward affordable transit. Like in Germany with the newly introduced 9-euro ticket. But that was only valid for three months. Soon there will be confusing tickets depending on the region and high prices.

In Western European countries, buses, trains, and subway prices are very high. Even if you put them concerning income. In Eastern European countries, it is cheaper. Mostly you see the older versions of buses and trains, but not only. The development has been going on for years. But if you have a nostalgic heart, you will be happily surprised.

Besides the prices and the reduction in CO2 emissions, other benefits come with using public transportation. It is less stressful. You can use the time you spend on the bus or train reading or listening to music. You do not have to worry about finding a parking space when you reach your destination. Also, you do not have to pay for parking. This is a great relief.

Especially in the city centres, parking fees are high. It is cheaper to use public transportation than a car, including insurance, gas, and parking fees. But it depends on your situation. A car is much more convenient if you have a big family and need to go shopping. Or when you have to drive your children to school or do other activities. A vehicle can be a huge relief.
