Which WNBA players are the most followed on Instagram?
The WNBA has never been more popular than it is now, so it’s not surprising that its biggest stars have a larger social media following.
We’ll look closer at which WNBA players had the most followers as of the start of the 2025 season.
Angel Reese
It might be surprising to learn that the Chicago Sky star is the most followed WNBA player on Instagram. Before the season tipped off, Reese had nearly five million followers, an incredible number for any athlete.
Perhaps the distinction isn’t shocking when considering how much Reese has done to promote her brand since she’s been in the WNBA. She launched a podcast in the summer of 2024 called Unapologetically Angel. Reese has had some headline guests, such as NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal.
In addition, Reese’s fashion sense and style have become pretty popular in the social media world. That’s just how the Chicago Sky star likes it, as she articulated that she has an equal passion for basketball and fashion. The latter keeps Reese relevant when she isn’t playing in WNBA games or with Unrivaled during the offseason.
Caitlin Clark
Clark turned the Indiana Fever into one of the most recognizable teams in the WNBA and basketball. WNBA odds reflected Indiana as a legitimate threat to win the 2025 championship, and that respect is due in large part to the generational skill that Clark brings to the court.
The Fever superstar guard had just over three million followers before the 2025 WNBA season and is easily the biggest draw in the league today. During her 2024 rookie season, the WNBA had 23 games that attracted over one million viewers. Caitlin Clark and the Fever were featured in 20, underscoring just how popular she is now.
Several Fever games were relocated to larger arenas to accommodate the significant fan interest in watching Clark and her teammates play. The Clark popularity phenomenon shows no signs of slowing down.

Paige Bueckers
She’s only in her first WNBA season, but the Dallas Wings star had 2.5 million Instagram followers before she played a professional game. It might be surprising that Bueckers has more followers than established WNBA stars like Sabrina Ionescu, A’ja Wilson, and Kelsey Plum. Still, she has built a substantial following from her college days.
Bueckers is the latest star to come out of the University of Connecticut, which has been a basketball factory for the last 30 years. Bueckers led the Huskies to the national championship in 2025, in addition to notching several individual awards. She was the 2025 Big East tournament Most Outstanding Player, the 2025 Wade Trophy winner, and became the first UConn women’s player to score 40 points in an NCAA tournament game.
That foundational following should indicate that Bueckers will be as much of a face of the league as Clark and Reese are moving forward.
